After breakfast update!

When I last left off, we had just reached the hostel. The place looked really....... old and haunted, like those in the movies... complete with old security guard. Our rooms were well.... furnished, and is meant as a double room, but we each got one. Woot! But no internet connection!!!! and the plug was like somewhere hidden by the bed so I had to find it and pull it out. There were some on the study table, but for some reason didn't work. Before we went to the room, we saw Kim finally, and her well some sort of assistant Jung, ok these are their surnames. Jinju and Jiwon actually. Then we had lunch after we unpacked. At least I did. Bernard haven't. I managed to unpack everything and make my room messy in 20 min. To give it that 'lived-in' look you know...

Ok lunch! lunch was.... good~ We had rice (duh), a bowl of beef soup with some noodles in it, and the other dishes for free for all! Too bad we don't get to eat lunch and dinner here. But ok la... the hostel fee is lesser. The dishes consists of some fried fish, a vege which I don't recognize but its very nice, and kimchi... which I thought was pineapple, cos it was in such big chunks. All i can say is i'm glad I took 5 only. The rest of the food was nice though..

After lunch we had a little break so I came online. At 2 we had a hostel briefing, which includes some rules.... like lights out at 2359, no guests in the rooms. We also had confirmation that there was no internet in the room bah.... After that we toured the place with the well sort of director of this program, and went to the main building where we would take Korean lessons. There's a multimedia room there, which we never went in, but I'm going to check it out asap. Hope there's at least a USB link... otherwise my photos how? Oh there is also a small gym (like I will use it), a library which has dvds (and yes got Da Chang Jin) and we also went to see the Director of the building, and he spoke some Chinese. So next time we talk to him we can speak Chinese cos he doesn't speak English. The only people who do are like the project director, Jinju, Jiwon and our Korean language teacher.

Then it was about 3.30, and we were free to go do whatever we want. Me and Bernard wanted to go explore our surroundings, and we asked the others along, but only Tham came. So we walked. And saw sculptures everywhere. Cos this place is like the Waterloo St of Korea, and we saw a lot of performing places, small theatres etc, and even some underground! We also ascertained that the vicinity was full of places to eat! Haha! And coffee houses and other what nots... Don't see shops for other things though... We already have some targets to go eat already haha. There's this one which is 7 stories high, and has restaurant, cafe, 2 pubs in it! We're so going to go to that one.

Ok then we went back to the hostel and slept to get ready for dinner sponsored by the Arts Council Korea. More on that in the next post. Time for the city tour now!
